What does an eCommerce product designer do?

An eCommerce product designer focuses on creating and improving online shopping experiences to help customers find, understand and buy products more easily while helping businesses increase conversion and sales.

Why is UX important for eCommerce?

Good eCommerce UX makes it easier for customers to shop. People should be able to find the right product, understand the details, trust the website and complete their order without problems. Poor UX can cause customers to leave, even when they like the product. A clear and simple shopping experience can improve conversion, customer satisfaction and repeat purchases.

How can better UX improve eCommerce conversion rates?

Better UX removes friction from the shopping journey, making it easier for customers to complete purchases, which directly improves conversion rates.

What is an eCommerce UX audit?

An eCommerce UX audit is a detailed review of an online store to identify usability issues, conversion barriers and opportunities to improve the customer experience.

Have you improved checkout conversion before?

Yes. I led and designed a new checkout experience for the GUESS eCommerce websites in the Middle East. The new one-page checkout delivered a reported 83% improvement in conversion during testing and was later used as a template for other brands.

Which parts of the eCommerce journey can you help improve?

I can help improve the full eCommerce customer journey. This includes the homepage, navigation, search, category pages, product pages, basket, checkout, account area and mobile experience. I also review content, forms, delivery information, payment choices and trust messages. The aim is to remove friction and make it easier for customers to buy.
